Hello and welcome to my little cooking blog! The Simple Supper was born out of my love of cooking and sharing all of the knowledge I have picked up over the last few years of trying to improve my cooking skills. I believe that cooking should be something everyone looks forward too not a chore that you dread. The Simple Supper is based on easy to find ingredients written in an accessible style that will make cooking more fun for everyone!
I do not follow any dietary restrictions, but I do focus on cooking with whole food ingredients and limiting my dairy and sugar intake so you won’t find a lot of what I like to call “southern grandma” cooking here. Many of my recipes are perfect for those following paleo, gluten-free, or whole 30 diet.
A little about me. During the day I work as social worker assisting young adults overcome barriers to employment. I live with my husband our precious pup Boom-Boom, our two cats Simone and Simon and whole gaggle of semi-feral cats that have taken up residence in our garage.
We live in a little town in rural Missouri without a Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s for at least 350 miles. But it’s home and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Well we would maybe add a couple more restaurants.
Besides cooking I love to read. I can get lost in cheesy vampire romance novels for hours! I also am obsessed with talking about my cats and posting pictures of them on Instagram. My husband and I are both very close to our familiesĀ so we spend a ton of time with our parents and siblings.
I am excited to get to share a little slice of our life with you through this blog!
